The Honorable Prime Minister launched the nation-wide “Fit India Movement” aimed to encourage people to inculcate physical activity and sports in their everyday lives and daily routine. To take this mission forward, CBSE has decided that each year the SECOND and THIRD WEEK in November, a total of 06 working days, will be celebrated as “Fitness Week”.
This movement endeavors to change behavior from “Passive Screen Time” to “Active Field Time”. The objective is to develop Sports Quotient among students, promote a healthy lifestyle, and build self-esteem and confidence through regular physical activity.
Activities During Fitness Week

i. Physical Activities including Dance, Aerobics, Yoga, Martial Arts, Rope Skipping, Gardening etc. ii. Essay / Poem Writing Competition on theme “Fit India School” |

Fitness / Sports Quiz for all Students Competition for Students, Staff and Parents in Traditional / Indigenous / Regional Games |

To celebrate Unity in Diversity of our Nation and strengthen emotional bonds. Engagement Matrix between States and UTs. Schools may engage students in at least one traditional game of partner state (Refer Annexure “A”). Children, Parents and Teachers may explore history and facts of indigenous games. |
